The BRAIN Trial
The purpose of the BRAIN Trial is to investigate the potential benefits of personalized brain stimulation in alleviating chronic symptoms following a concussion or mild Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The trial is open to individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 who are fluent in English and who have been experiencing symptoms persisting 3-12 months after their concussion.
During the trial, participants will undergo Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans to accurately identify the specific areas of the brain that require targeted intervention. This intervention be achieved through the use of transcranial magnetic stimulation, a non-invasive technique that delivers magnetic pulses to stimulate specific regions of the brain.
The trial aims to assess the effectiveness of personalized brain stimulation in reducing the severity and frequency of symptoms associated with post-concussion syndrome. By targeting the affected brain areas, researchers hope to provide potential relief and improve the overall quality of life for participants.
If you meet the eligibility criteria and are interested in participating, please reach out to bickartlab@gmail.com for further information and enrollment.
Can brain stimulation help those struggling to recover from concussion?
A novel study is seeking to modify a particular brain circuit that appears over-sensitized in people who experience chronic symptoms after a concussion.
The Brain Health Project
The Brain Health Project (BHP) is a unique project aiming to define brain health and its pillars in an attempt to address the myths, truths, gaps, nuances, and consensus surrounding each pillar.
The BHP seeks to uncover new insights, challenge existing notions, and contribute to the growing body of knowledge in the field of brain health. If you are passionate about brain health and would like to be part of this innovative project, please contact us for more information on how to get involved.
